On 27-28 October 2011 in Congress & Recreation Center 'Orle Gniazdo" in Szczyrk, Poland took place the Conference regarded to

 'Extending service period of power units'

The Conference was organized by Chamber of Commerce of Power Industry and Environmental Protection and the Content Patronage was taken by Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Naukowo-Technicznych “Pro Novum” Sp. z o. o.

In the Conference took place 67 participants – representatives of power plants and CHPs as well as overhaul and diagnostics companies.

The Conference was opened by General Director of Chamber of Commerce of Power Industry and Environmental Protection Mr Sławomir Krystek and President of the Board of Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Naukowo-Technicznych “Pro Novum” Sp. z o. o. Mr Jerzy Trzeszczyński.

Theme of the Conference focused on the conditions of extending service period of thermo-mechanical equipment of power plants up to about 350.000 working hours. Different attitudes to the matter were presented – especially those enabling to minimize a replacement of longest operated elements. For 200 MW power units there was presented recommended methodology – implemented during first modernizations of these units – for phases of overhaul preparation, realization and whole period of extended operation.

In three session 9 papers had been presented.
